These Montessori peg puzzles are perfect for my 3-year-old. The wooden pieces are easy to grasp, and she enjoys figuring out where each piece goes. It's a solid educational toy, but I do wish there were more complex options in the set for when she gets older!

I like the EduTree peg puzzles for my 4-year-old, but I found the instructions on how to best use them a bit vague. The puzzles themselves are great for cognitive development, though! Just wish the packaging was nicer—arrived slightly damaged.

I was looking for wooden puzzles with pegs for my almost 2 year old grandson. The Amazon AI stepped in and asked if I wanted help choosing one. It chose this one as the best. I was leaning towards this one anyway, so I bought it. My daughter called me, laughing, when she received it and started telling me some of the odd labels on the alphabet puzzle. For example, the L shows a picture of a Ladybug, but it’s labeled Ladybird. And M is for Milkcow. And O is for Observe. Certainly not your standard choices. There are some other odd ones you can see in the photos. She also said that on some of the animals puzzles, the pegs are placed in the eyes, which looks a little disturbing. All that said, my grandson notices none of this and LOVES them! There are 6 puzzles in all. Alphabet, Numbers, Fruit, and 3 different Animal puzzles. They are bright and colorful and he’s having a ball putting them together. They are sturdy and well made, so if you don’t mind the little oddities, they’re a good bargain. But I took off a star for the weird things.

Does 6pcs mean six individual puzzle pieces?

No. 6pcs means six puzzle boards; 5pcs means five boards. Each board has removable peg pieces. Quantity 1 buys one complete set of your selected option.

What age is it for?

Ages 3 and up: the packaging is marked 36+ months. Use with adult supervision and check the pieces before play.

How big are the boards?

The illustrated six-board set lists a board size of approximately 30 × 22.35 cm (11.8 × 8.8 in) and a board thickness of 0.5 cm (0.2 in). The five-board set's dimensions have not been separately confirmed.

How do we start playing?

Start with one board on a flat surface. Lift a piece by its peg, name the picture, then match it to its outline. Begin with a few pieces and add more as your child gets familiar with the game.
